Short term study program from Royal Agriculture University (Nov. 16-22, 2025)

Fourteen students from the Royal University of Agriculture in Cambodia and faculty member Hor Sanara (LRP PhD graduate) visited the university for a short visit.

In the morning of November 18, Professor Saizen gave a lecture on Japanese land use planning, the zoning system, and Kyoto's landscape conservation ordinance. In the afternoon, the students walked around Kyoto City and observed how the zoning system helps maintain cityscapes.

On November 19, the students visited the Kosaji district of Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, where Asano has long connection. With the cooperation of the Kosaji Environmental Conservation Committee, they received a presentation on environmentally friendly agriculture being carried out in the area and observed an actual site.

For lunch, we enjoyed rice cakes, a specialty of Osaji, and delicious udon noodles.

This is an inspection of a sheet used to prevent weed growth. This significantly reduces the effort required for mowing.

On November 20th, the students visited Lake Biwa Museum in Shiga Prefecture, where they learned about the history, culture, and lifestyles of the people around Lake Biwa. We hope to further deepen our collaboration with the Royal University of Agriculture in the future.
